A Small Shift, More Adventures Sooner

At last night’s meeting, we made a change to how we build and release our content—one that should get more playable material into your hands, sooner. Up to now, we’ve been working toward fully complete adventures before release. The challenge is that while we have a large number of thoroughly playtested adventures ready to go, bringing them up to date with the latest versions of Foundry VTT has been taking longer than we’d like. More than once, we’ve been right on the edge of release when a new Foundry version arrives—first v13, now v14—and we naturally want to take advantage of all the new features each update brings.

So, we’re shifting to a more flexible approach.

Going forward, we’ll begin by releasing modules focused on scenes only—fully prepared and ready for use. As we continue building out each adventure, we’ll follow up with another module containing NPCs, items, and core journals as a set of compendiums. Finally, we’ll bring everything together in a complete Adventure compendium, including levels, regions, active effects, placed NPCs, and the full narrative experience, (version 14 only).

This approach lets us share useful, playable content with you much earlier, while still working toward fully realised adventures behind the scenes. It’s all about getting great material to your table without the long wait for a “final” release.

We are pleased to add Bottle and Blade Scenes to our released modules today.
